07/01/2024 General Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of supervisory and administrative tasks in directing and monitoring the programs and services for all schools in the Falls Church City Public Schools. Plans, directs and reviews the activities and operations of the schools and building administrators, including assessing needs, developing programs, and implementing services for students. Articulates the strategic initiatives and alignment of programs of the school system to local and state officials as applicable. Supervises and evaluates staff and promotes professional growth through principal evaluation and professional development and honors associated timelines with fidelity.

Education and Experience:

• A Master’s Degree and possession of, or eligibility for, a Virginia Postgraduate Professional License in Administration and Supervision, Pre K-12
• Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policy or Curriculum Instruction preferred
• A minimum of eight years of experience in school administration, including knowledge of academic and accountability testing
• Central office administrative leadership experience preferred
• Experience with educational accountability measures, state and local assessments, curriculum development, and managing a variety of programs and initiatives

Physical Requirements:

• Sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls.
• Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to: a personal computer, calculator, copier, fax machine, and projection and video devices.
• Ability to engage in significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, or repetitive motions.
